Hi, I'm Karl and these are my creative pages where you'll see cartoons and humour writing. So I hope you enjoy them and feel free to send a message once in a while because sometimes it can get lonely out here in Cyberland.

When someone has a lot of time on their hands they can be extraordinarily creative or sometimes ordinarily creative. I hope you look around the site and like so many others, find the cartoons and writing incredibly mediocre.

Well it's been awhile, so what's new? Since my last update, I'm working a regular job, and it's getting colder. Summer was beautiful but has come and gone, and fall is well on it's way to winter. Days are getting shorter and trees are almost bare. Snow and freezing rain, can't be far away. I can hardly wait to see how often I will complain. I need to get busy drawing again to get out of this terrible state of mind and be cheerful and happy. My goal will be to update this page more frequently with updates and will update you on how I'm doing with that. Now I need to get a hot tea and get the blood circulating again. See you soon.

Well it's been a while since I checked in on the site and see I got hacked or spammed by a lot of junk in my guest book which means I had to delete all the entries ( I didn't know how to select the ones I wanted to keep). Sorry for having to delete comments from friends who were very kind and said some encouraging words. I'm hoping the problem is fixed, as I've change the way comments will be added.

I'm a little worried about writing any text in this space because the last time I did, the software caused me to lose a lot of daily updates when I tried to save. Hopefully this time it won't because if it does, you won't be reading this. I guess it saved properly this time. Yay!

Lots of chores to do: vacuuming, wrapping last minute gifts, cleaning up the place, watching the Disney Parade, and most important of all: wishing my family and friends a merry Christmas.

It's only 3 days until Christmas and I'm completely ready for the big day, with one exception: to start the shopping. However, I got the tree up and decorated and I'm using a string of regular miniature light bulbs and another string with energy efficient cost saving LED bulbs. I'm thinking "Green" Christmas. And now it's time to head to the dollar store to begin the spending spree!

Wow! How the time flies! It's almost Christmas and I haven't got the tree up for last year yet. Well if I do, you'll be the first to know, as I will take a photo and post it right here. Yikes! Just realized I haven't gotten any shopping done either. Well, there's got to be a lot of items lying around the place that have never been used, and I've got lots of wrapping paper...

Wow! I have a hard time imagining it's more than 2 months since my last update. I thought time was only supposed to fly when you're having fun. Apparently it also flies by when you aren't having any. I'm writing a lot and taking care of some other business. And it's getting colder now, so I'll probably do even more writing and cartooning or hibernating.

I bought a new inkjet printer today, and it came with 2 ink cartridges; one black and one colour. I already had a printer, but when you can buy a brand new one for just a few more dollars than the price of a new cartridge for the old one, it's easier to justify.

A busy day indoors moving stuff around, trying to clean the apartment. Having lots of stuff is okay, until you try moving it. The place doesn't look much better, but does look different.

Well it was a busy week, for the guy in the photo above. Riding the 10 speed to Bluesfest outdoor music festival, and back home for about 7 of the 11 days has drained a lot of energy out of the aging rock star fan. Saw some pretty good/average bands, for free, (watching from outside the park) most notably Alan Parson's Project. Met a few interesting people, who also were enjoying the free show. A roofer, an organic farming hand, a recently laid off alternative energy worker (and her dog Cinder), and a four year old dog named Trixie (born on Halloween) and her owner, a young lady who told me the reason why her dog was wearing a splint on her leg. Her dog was hit by a car, but seemed pretty good shape although she walked with a limp.

Seems there's never enough seconds, minutes and hours in the day to complete all the tasks I would like to do. My plan was to draw a cartoon today, but decided to submit an information article instead. Like I always say though; there's always tomorrow and the day after that, and the one following it and the next one and so on.

It's Victoria Day holiday and finally a nice day. It has been a pretty crappy weekend, weather wise. Plans for today include drawing a cartoon and doing housework. I'm pretty sure the cartoon will get done.

Watching it rain. Supposed to go to outdoor concert tonight featuring my friend Andy's band. The rain isn't' going to help the turnout however. If I don't go, maybe I'll start drawing a cartoon. Either way, sounds like a fun day.

Watching it rain and glad it's not snow. Ready to publish another cartoon that took me a long time to figure out where it was heading. The message seemed to change when I was half way through. You can see it on the cartoons page. BTW, I forgot to post anything here for Wednesday, which means it had to be a really uneventful day.

Just watched the space shuttle launch. Thankfully everything went smoothly. Should be some interesting stuff with five space walks in five days and doing repair work on the Hubble satellite.

Had to take of personal stuff today, so not much exciting to report. Did you know that yesterday was Cinco De Mayo Day? You probably did. However did you also know it was National Cartoonist's Day (or National Comic Book Day)? You probably didn't. So try to remember this for next year okay, and give a big thankyou (hugs and kisses) to your favourite cartoonist for making you smile. Mine happens to be Dan Piraro who draws Bizarro World.

What a full day of plans I have for Saturday! Let me share them with you. First up, I've got several loads of laundry just waiting to be washed. Later today the Kentucky Derby is being run and shown on NBC, and if that wasn't enough, FOX is showing the NASCAR Sprint Cup race from Richmond tonight. Whew! I'm tired out already just thinking about it.

A very nice day here in the Nation's capital, with the sun shining and warming up to around 16 degrees C. I tried reading some parts of the proposed Green Energy Act (Bill 150) by the Ontario Liberal government of Dalton McGuinty. I think I'll need an interpreter to explain it to me in plain English.
